Star TO BE A POLL WORKER

                        YOU MUST BE:

·         A U.S. Citizen

·         A registered voter of California

·         At least 18 years of age

 

   

Star TO BE A STUDENT POLL WORKER

YOU MUST BE:

·         A U.S. Citizen

·         At least 16 years of age

·         Have a 2.5+ G.P.A.

 

 

PRECINCT BOARD POSITIONS:

  • Inspector
  • Assistant Inspector
  • Clerk

 

HOURS:

Polls are open from 7 a.m-8 p.m. Poll Workers work from 6 a.m. until approx. 1 hour after the polls close (except for lunch and breaks).

 

STIPENDS:

  • $125 for Inspectors
  • $100 for Assistant Inspectors & Clerks

 

Precinct Boards usually consist of four Poll Workers (an Inspector, an Assistant Inspector and two Clerks).

 

Shasta County typically has between 60 to 100+ Precinct Boards for each election.

 

Registrar of Voters Emergency Response Specialists (R.O.V.E.R.S) are also on-board. They’re assigned to several precincts to help resolve any critical issues occurring at Polling Sites on Election Day.

IT’S PATRIOTIC!

Poll Workers state the main reasons that they serve are to fulfill their civic responsibility and to support the democratic process.

 

IT’S EDUCATIONAL!

Poll Workers attend an in-class training & learn what it takes to successfully administer an election that complies with both California and Federal Election Laws.

 

IT’S A CHANCE TO SEE NEIGHBORS/MEET NEW FRIENDS!

Poll Workers say how much they enjoy seeing and assisting their neighbors and community members on Election Day.

 

IT’S A GREAT FUNDRAISER!

Poll Workers can donate their stipend to their favorite organization, club, school, youth group, team, etc.  A Precinct Board of 4 can donate $425.00 to the organization of their choice after working just one Election Day!

Your time and service ensures that members of your local community can exercise their constitutional right to vote.
